Behind every book is a story. Behind every story is a journey.Billy DeShazor is an author and storyteller whose work explores resilience, faith, personal growth, loss, rebuilding, and the experiences that shape who we become.

My journey hasn’t always been easy. Life has brought seasons of loss, disappointment, uncertainty, challenges, and rebuilding. Through those experiences, I learned that difficult chapters need not define the whole story. But sometimes, they become the chapters that teach us the most.

Writing became a way for me to reflect on those experiences, put lessons into words, and share something meaningful with people walking through their own difficult seasons. What started as a personal journey became a desire to tell stories that could reach beyond my own experiences. Stories that encourage, challenge, and remind us that there is still more ahead.

WHY I WRITE

Writing is only one part of my journey. I believe creativity, personal experience, and storytelling can create connections that go far beyond a book. Through my work, I want to create experiences that make people think, feel, reflect, and perhaps see their own journey a little differently. Every project gives me another opportunity to share something authentic.

I write because I know what it feels like to face moments that make you question what comes next. I’m writing for the person who needs encouragement. That person rebuilding after loss and searching for direction, or who may look strong on the outside while quietly fighting battles no one else can see. My goal is to create books that give readers something they can carry with them long after they turn the final page. A reminder, a perspective, a little hope, or simply a reason to keep going.

MY MISSION

Billy DeShazor’s Publishing gives meaningful stories a home. I want my books to reach people from diverse backgrounds and different walks of life. You may not have lived my story or experienced the same challenges, but I believe there is power in recognizing something familiar within someone else's journey. If one page encourages someone to keep going, one story helps someone feel less alone, or one book gives someone the perspective they needed at the right moment, then the work has meaning. That is the kind of legacy I want to build.
